The paintings in this series represent a feeling that the separation and polarization that has become part of our new normal has to change. As someone who values harmony, I’m deeply disturbed by conflict, particularly when communication breaks down to the point that people just want to harm one another. I think most us feel that humanity is a point where we have to find a way to reconnect. We have to intentionally build new ways to foster intensive and productive dialog at all levels of society. I’m hopeful because we have the tools to do this, and there is more than enough common ground. More and more are waking up to this warning signal glowing in each of us.
